House Pictures

Saturday the pool contractor met us at our home to measure and place the pool. It was very COLD and WINDY! You have to look past all the trash…sorry!

This was taken this morning! The stone layers BEGAN today! Here they are laying the first few layers. Sorry for the rears. 🙂

They completely finished the texturing of the sheet rock yesterday. Here is a picture of the living room.

Children’s Church Primary Program Today

Every year our children learn songs and scriptures pertaining to a certain theme set forth by the church. This year the theme was “I am a child of God.” Today the children had a special program during our worship service. They have this program once a year to highlight the songs & scriptures they have been learning since January. Each child has at least one speaking part, usually a sentence or two.

My son had three parts this year:

“Heavenly Father wants all of us to return home to live with Him and with our own families.”

“We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.”

“Both the Bible and the Book of Mormon testify of Jesus Christ. Both tell about Jesus’ followers and about His coming to their continent. It is important that we study both books to gain testimony that Jesus lives, loves us, and wants us to return and live with Him and Heavenly Father.”

My youngest daughter had two parts:

“Heavenly Father plans for us to come to earth and belong to a family.”

“Prayer is how missionaries feel the Spirit and know what Heavenly Father want them to do and say.”

I absolutely love to see the children sing! My little girl stood up so tall and proud as she sang the songs. You could hear her singing loud and clear. 🙂 I used to be the chorister for the children and it is just so sweet to hear these beautiful songs sung by these beautiful children. My most favorite song sung this year is titled, “If The Savior Stood Beside Me.” I am going to share it with you on here. I will try to set it up where you hear it when you enter this blog, so you should be hearing it now. I remember the first time I heard it…tears began to flow as I thought about what it would be like to have Jesus standing beside me…the joy, the awe. As soon as I find the lyrics, I will post them here also.

I hope your Sunday is bringing you light from Him,

Skippyjon Jones

I just finished reading this adorable and hilarious book to my youngest. We bought a 3 pack of the Skippyjon Jones books from Scholastic. They are my favorite books to read to her. Even my 10 year old boy likes to hear me read them. They are about a Siamese cat who thinks he is a Chihuahua. I totally recommend these books for kids! It is just as fun for me to read them as it is for her to listen. I love to hear her giggle as I use my rusty Spanish accent. They really are very funny! The illustrations are just as wonderful as the text… 4 stars from me!

Happy reading,

Half Marathon Time

So I have been officially training to run another half marathon. The last one I ran was with hubby at Disney World in January 2006. Ever since my major mountain biking accident the summer of 2007…well, let’s just say, my body will never be the same. It has been a huge uphill battle to run since my accident. It is almost like starting all over again, but with a “crutch,” meaning that I am “broken” compared to when I began training to run my first half marathon back in the fall of 2003. I finally am running 3 miles at least 3 times a week – the past 3 weeks. Saturday was the first time I ran over 3… 5 miles. So now I will be upping my mileage every Saturday by one mile until I get to 10. It has been a slow process and humbling. I usually hurt, believe it or not, in my shoulders and arms after I run. This is where I took the brunt of the fall in my accident.

I have just told myself that if I have to walk some during my 13.1 miles, it is okay. This is difficult for me to think about considering I have run 26.2 miles in 2005. I will finish, that is a given, just maybe not as fast as I would like or have done before.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Before I am off to bed, I just want to say Happy Birthday again to my Mom. I hope you had a great day…I am so extremely blessed to have you as my mother.

I love you, Mom.

20 Year High School Reunion

This weekend I will be traveling back to my “home town” to celebrate 20 years since High School graduation…Class of ’88. WOW! Doesn’t that make me feel old! I have been out of school now longer than I was in school!

I enjoyed going to my 10 year high school reunion; even though I was 8 months pregnant with my son. I was huge! I will have to search for the pictures and post them here. That will be a good laugh!

I am excited to see everyone again.
Go Colts!
