I found this way cute Father’s Day Banner Kit at Pebbles in My Pocket when I was in Utah.
It was the inspiration for my Father’s Day themed fireplace mantel.
Father’s Day is THIS SUNDAY. 🙂
I decided to add one of my husbands real ties to the frame on the right.
I got the white iron votive tree at a silent auction for a Band fundraiser this year.
The photo of DH was taken on the beach at Castaway Cay {Disney’s private island} from our Disney Cruise for my 40th Birthday.
I bought the iron bicycle decoration {Hobby Lobby} for my husband several years ago.
I thought it was perfect to add to this mantel celebrating him & the things he loves.
My daughter’s preschool {2006 to be exact} surprised all of the parents for Father’s Day. They took photos of the kids dressed up in a suit coat, tie and hat. It is one of my favorite photos of her! I grabbed this photo which was in the study & added it to the mantel.
As always, I use my chalk board to write a saying that goes with the theme.
It is a favorite piece of mine I bought at a local boutique.

Make Your Own Father’s Day Tie Banner
- It would be easy to make your own banner using paper you already have.
- Print out this template {see below}, cut it out and trace the tie pattern onto your paper.
- Use letter stickers or chipboard letters to spell out “I love dad” or whatever phrase you want.
- You don’t have to, but I used eyelets for the holes. Otherwise, use a hole punch and add your string.
- The kit came with jute twine, but you could use any sort of string, yarn or ribbon.
My 8 year old and I did this project together.
I let her glue the letters on all by herself.
This is a great craft to do with your kids.
The Dad’s will love it!

I hope so, Susan. 🙂 Thank you very much.
