i heart faces {vroom,vroom photo challenge}

iheartfaces announced they were having a “vroom,vroom” photo challenge this week. I immediately thought of this photo. I loved capturing this moment. The ocean is such a peaceful place. This was taken right at sunset on our first night, Sep 2, 2010. We were in the middle of the ocean. All you could see was the beautiful blue water surrounding us. I’ll name the shot “Contemplative Cruising.” I decided I might enter the contest for fun.

Capture Moments,

Bon Voyage!

This will be the very brief & simplified version of our cruise from this weekend. I realized I have at least 500 photos and it takes time for those to download (and correct imperfections lol!) etc. Unfortunately, I have come down with a urinary tract infection & so I’m dizzy. 🙁 This makes it difficult to devote the time I would like to this very special trip commemorating my 40th Birthday. I chose a few photos to share now & I promise you will see more in the future.

There are definite benefits to having a daughter who wants to be a photographer! =)

It was not long enough!
Need to get to bed. Hopefully I will feel better enough tomorrow to write more of our adventures aboard our “Fantasy” cruise.

Dreams really do come true,

235th Blog Post

Do you hear what I hear? It’s called silence.

This morning we continued our First Day of School tradition of visiting the Donut Shop for breakfast. “A” must have been a little nervous because she didn’t finish her little bag of donut holes. That has never happened before. Photos were taken & DH took the two oldest to their respective schools while I took our youngest to hers. (They are each at a different school…yeah, it’s a bummer!)

I went by our old place to check on things there on my way home. After that, I came home made beds, straightened up, did two loads of laundry, watered the plants, shocked the pool, paid some bills, made some phone calls while listening to the audio version of Proverbs. WOW! Look what I can do when there are no interruptions. Yay! School is good for Mommies and Kids! lol

Now, I got my music playing while writing this blog and plan on working on some photo sorting afterward. Looking forward to having lunch with my sweet DH. It’s a beautiful day! Feeling grateful and happy. Hope you are too. 🙂

Happy 1st day of the rest of your life,

Teacher Mini Clipboard Gifts

{This is a re-post from last year.}

Lately, whenever I do a project or change something up in my house, I hear from my children, “where did you get that idea?” My answer seems to always be, “on a blog.” So much that the last time my son asked me, I didn’t even have to answer. He immediately said, “I know, on a BLOG!”

I have gotten so many great ideas from blogs.  It literally has made a huge impact on my life, apparently.

So here is my latest inspiration project due to fellow blogger Marta Writes.  She is extremely creative and I used her mini clipboards idea to give to my kid’s teachers this week for Teacher Appreciation Week. She has great instructions on how to make them with wonderful photos. You can see them here. Thanks Marta!

Blogs are awesome,

Need a laugh?

Then watch this:

I’m taking a break from working my tail off at the house. It feels good to sit down. I began reading a new book this week called The Girl Who Could Fly by Victoria Forester. So far I have enjoyed the other book Stephenie Meyer reccomended, The Hunger Games. I figure I can’t go wrong on her reccomendations. 🙂

The kids are fighting & arguing constantly. I think I am going to go mad. I am so ready for school to start. It will be nice to have a few hours a day of peace and quiet. As a mom, it is hard not to wonder what I am doing wrong…why my kids seem to hate each other so much. So much for a little break…off to referee the kids AGAIN.
