Weekend Wrapup

Saturday ended up being this Super Saturday of sorts. Our family participated in it’s first 5K {all of us together.}  It was muggy, overcast & warm.  Despite the weather, we enjoyed our morning of running.

Age Group awards were the highlight:

First Place in her age group

My oldest daughter

Second Place in our perspective age groups

My Son, My youngest daughter and me 😉

DH should have placed Third in his age group, but someone was placed in the wrong age bracket and he didn’t want to make a fuss.  It’s not all about the winning, though. 🙂

I won’t mention how we ended up running 4 miles instead of 3 because the race was not marked properly.

Next was a carnival style birthday party for a friend followed by PROM…the movie, of course.

No rest for the weary, Hubby mowed the yard while I went grocery shopping for Sunday meals.

Grateful for smiles, hugs, high fives, physical fitness, friends, movies, music and priceless memories made together.

This is not an ordinary Saturday.  I probably can only take about one of these every few months.  Passed out in bed about ten till nine…that says it all!

What did you do this weekend?

  1. Oh boy! I get to comment first! I just wanted to know if your husband likes marathon weekends like this or if he dreads them. Mine dreads them and would rather stay home and work at home all day. I love them:) Last Saturday we were going all day as well–T-ball egg hunt, opening ceremonies, and game with S all morning, the grocery store, making an offer on yet another house, and then Pride in M event downtown. Finally we came in the door and had to do the “get ready for Sunday” routine. It was tiring but fun! I guess I can cut Husband some slack since we did shop all day in Dallas on Friday as well, but I love being busy!

    • I think it all depends on his mood, really. He has more energy now that he exercises. If he’s on call, well, he doesn’t like to do much on those days at all. You have to fill me in on the house hunting situation. I like being busy, but it depends on what the busy is. I also think there is a time to veg and relax. Downtime is imperative in my world. Glad you had two fun filled days to share with your family! So glad you are here, both on the blog and in my little city. 😉 Looking forward to our Time Out for Women conference coming up soon!

      • Our offer on a home was accepted so the process in FINALLY rolling. We will probably move in mid-June. I’m finally finding free fun things to do and have found places/ways to buy most everything we need now so my 2 main hook-ups with M are resolved. I am glad we moved here too. I miss my friends but there are so many awesome people here! I’m excited for Time Out for Women too! p.s. I’m only up at this hour because B here is having croup problems!

        • Congratulations! I had no idea their house was on the market. Sorry your little one is sick. 🙁 Hope he feels better soon! Maybe you could take a nap while he does sometime today.

  2. What a cute LO. I love the story behind it too. What a great way to remember!
Thanks for stopping by and linking up to Scrapbook Sundays!

    • Smilebox should be credited to the layout. I love Smilebox. It helps me be able to digitally scrapbook without feeling guilt. LOVE that! Thanks for the linky party and for stopping by. 🙂
