Breaking Tradition & Breaking Dawn’s Families

Well, it pains me to say I broke tradition last night. 🙁

I did not go to the midnight showing of Breaking Dawn this morning.  Are you shocked?!

Since beginning my Operation Get Fit, I have signed up for the Hilton Head Half Marathon.  So this Momma is serious.  I knew if I went to the midnight showing I probably wouldn’t get my training run in today.  Let’s face it, I didn’t want to run today even with getting a night’s worth of sleep.  It’s been rough getting back into shape.  My runs have not been easy at all.  This is different for me.  I have run one marathon and 3 half marathons.  Usually by now in my training it is not too difficult to run 3 miles.  This time I can’t seem to get into the groove and I am dreading every run.  I share this for the purpose of letting all of you newer runners indulge in the fact, that it CAN be difficult, even for us more ‘seasoned’ runners. {I’m sorry if that sentence is a run-on, no pun intended}  Running is more about mind over body than you realize.  Each run this week has felt as though I am running the last 3 miles of a marathon.  I find if I am thinking too much about the run and the difficulty, I want to stop.  So I train myself to think about other things.  For example, one day I took the word BLESSINGS and for each letter I thought of something I consider a blessing; something I am grateful for.  Another example: there is a young man who walks his dog on the track every morning…from behind he looks like Edward {Robert Pattinson} so I would tell myself to run to Edward. LOL, hey you do what you need to do to keep running.

Back to Breaking Dawn…my 16 year old daughter and I stood in line for tickets yesterday to the 4:25 showing today.  I have to brag about one of the BEST things of living in small town USA…our tickets were $4 each!  That is the matinee price, ahhhh…LOVE that!

Waiting in line for our tickets yesterday 🙂

In the middle of the night I woke up and had the idea of talking a little about the importance of FAMILY in the Twilight Series. {Yep, us bloggers are always thinking about content for our blogs}  Family is a strong theme throughout the books.

There is the Cullen Family:

The Swan Family:

The Volturi Family:

In Breaking Dawn you learn more about The Amazon Family, The Denali Family, The Egyptian Family, The Irish Family & The Romanian Family.

Yes, these families are not real, but the importance of FAMILY in the books {& movies} is very real.  Family stands behind each other and accepts each others faults no matter what.  It’s about team work, strength in togetherness and sharing.

Last but not least, I had to add this to today’s post:

Front of Scarf

Back of Scarf

One of my very creative Twilight friends here in town made her Twilight T-Shirts into a scarf!  What a wonderful idea, huh?!  Thank you Tammy for allowing me to share this awesomeness with my readers. 😀  I LOVE it!!!

Happy Friday,

Anticipation for Breaking Dawn Soundtrack

My Brother has a production company. He made this cool video!

If you like it too, please like it on YouTube.

I could totally see Plain Jane Automobile on the Breaking Dawn Soundtrack!

This particular song, We Live In The Dark, goes so well.

Can’t wait for the soundtrack to come out. 🙂

Enjoy!

Videos Bring Joy,

Midnight Sun!

Midnight Sun is the name of Stephenie Meyer’s next book in the Twilight Saga. For those of you who are totally insane (no offense 🙂 )and have not read any of these spectacular books, Midnight Sun will be Twilight through the eyes of Edward. Twilight is written through the eyes of Bella. Edward and Bella are the two main characters. Midnight Sun is not a continuation of Breaking Dawn. It is just retelling the first book, Twilight, from Edward’s perspective.

I just found the first chapter online at Stephenie Meyers website (under my favorite websites to the left). I was able to download it and read it today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is just as great as the others! I probably should not have read it because now I can’t wait to read the rest and it probably won’t be released until next year sometime. Oh well…ugh…something to look forward to right? I am not sounding too convincing to myself. Sigh!!!

Choose to be happy, Shan
