Shell Necklace

I found this necklace I really like, but the price…not so much!

I bought the shells for a mere fraction of the cost,

pulled out my daughter’s beading tools and got to work.

It’s not identical.  Tell me what you think?

I wish there were more of the bigger shells, but there were only 3 left at the store.

I would love your feedback.

  2. Cheryl Beaty says:

I like it very much, even better than the one in the catalog. You are so smart! Love you, Mom

  3. Monica says:

Gorgeous! How much were the supplies? Way to go!

  4. I was thinking, “Wow! I like hers even more!”…and then I read your Mom’s comment. lol. I do though! The smaller shells, and the ones with the hole in the middle, really make it more interesting.
Thank you for linking it up at my Linky-Party! Come back and share every Tuesday, ok? (And spread the word if you can?)

    I love it! So thrifty!

Oh, I love it Shannon!!! Very cute! I love it that you spent $15 total! That’s awesome! It makes me want to start making jewelry! That’s something I’ve never done, but I think I would enjoy it!

    • Shan says:

Jewelry making is much easier than you think it is. It’s just time consuming. I’ll have to teach you next time we are together. You would like it. ;)

  7. Heather says:

Your necklace is much more interesting ! What a great idea; I want to make one!

    • Shan says:

I’m glad you think so. You should make one! Let me know if you have any questions. I will do my best to help. It is really all just looping to make knots around the shells. I’m sure that is not the jewelry jargon of explaining, but I’m not a pro in any form or fashion. I plan on wearing the necklace for our family portrait tomorrow. I will definitely post photos in the future! I’m so excited! Thanks Heather!

I love this idea, and i’ve see shell necklaces for more than that in catalogs too! I just went thru my collection of shells and i’m going to do one of my own.. will try to get around to sharing a photo with you. Making jewelry is the best way for me to relax and i have a lot of medical problems and they are always telling me to lower my stress.. Well i have found that that is what it does for me..great job. just wish i made mere money off of it. LOL
